Celebration of Dedication
A milestone was reached on October 30th, 2014 at the Lighthouse School as we celebrated the dedication of our new building. Nearly three years after construction had begun and coming on the heels of the war this summer, the completion of this project is a cause for celebration. New classrooms downstairs and a large assembly hall upstairs now provide the additional space needed to expand the elementary program and continue our school assemblies for the first time since 2010. The school staff was present for the dedication ceremony along with numerous guests, including donors, sponsors, representatives of NGO’s, engineers and building contractors. The school principal Faiza Ayyad and the administrative director Shukri Ayyad cut the ribbon to mark the official opening. Members of the school committee shared their thoughts and encouraging words and Pastor Hanna Maher prayed the prayer of dedication. We are thankful to so many who made this day possible; who contributed generously, worked tirelessly and served faithfully. God’s goodness and faithfulness to the Lighthouse School remains evident and by His grace the light continues to shine in Gaza.
