Under Fire in Gaza
Damage at the Lighthouse School has been minimal as compared to so many other buildings in Gaza, but the pictures taken yesterday are a reminder that no place is safe. Our continued thoughts and prayers for our friends, staff and students who remain under fire. Pray for a speedy end to this latest round of violence and a just and lasting resolution for a conflict that has gone on far too long.
Words from our staff:
“We went to visit the Light House school today and it was so scary and when we walk around I only remember when care crops team visited us last year and they ask the children what is the most place you feel safe in? the children said that they felt safe when they were at the school and now it might not feel as safe for them . what comfort us that we are sure that the Lord is the hope for the hopeless and We know that there is always hope when we trust in God praying that others will come to know the hope that Jesus can bring to their lives! For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Amen” – Wafa (Kindergarten)
“Today we went to the Lighthouse School, you cant imagine the destruction there, the windows , the doors, the glass on the ground. God sake too much damage , please God be with us and help us and give us patience. My dear school!” -Esraa (English teacher)
