Lunch at the Lighthouse

The Lighthouse School has been providing free lunches to our students since the school opened in 2005. Every child in kindergarten and elementary receives a protein rich sandwich, fruit or vegetable and juice box daily as a part of the sponsorship program. We are grateful this year for a new partnership with Convoy of Hope and the generous funding they are now providing for our feeding program. Extra funds have enabled the school to begin special meals 2-3 times each month. In mid-September the school principal surprised the children with a special meal of kebab sandwiches, rice, salad and dessert. Many of the children took some of their food home to share with their siblings. Sharing begets sharing and giving generously inspires others to give generously. We are thankful for the generous support of all of our donors, sponsors and friends who give faithfully to the Lighthouse. The students of the Lighthouse are learning, even out of their own need, and showing their generosity and compassion to their brothers and sisters at home who are also in need. It’s a beautiful thing to behold as the Lord provides His ‘daily bread’ through generous hearts and giving hands.
